The Township of Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority (TTHMUA) operates and maintains over 181 miles of gravity sanitary sewer ranging from 8-inch diameter to 36-inch diameter pipe, over 14 miles of force mains and 17 sewage pumping stations providing residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal sanitary sewer service for more than 10,000 customers, representing over 13,000 billing units. The system currently conveys an average daily flow of approximately 3.6 million gallons to the Somerset Raritan Valley Sewerage Authority (SRVSA) Wastewater Treatment Facility located in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Position: TTHMUA is seeking a full-time Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations for the Authority. The salary will be compensatory based on experience.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm; must be willing and able to respond to all emergencies and overtime that may occur, which may include nights, weekends or holidays.
General Responsibilities: oversee the routine maintenance of the sanitary sewer facilities; provide technical diagnostics and repair on the complex mechanical and electronic systems; supervise a diverse team of maintenance employees, while adhering to TTHMUA’s policies; use Confined Space Entry equipment; attend required and / or recommended training classes; and maintain a personal appearance wearing company uniforms in professional atmosphere; recommend, coordinate and schedule various servicing operations for equipment and facilities, maintain inventory levels of supplies and materials; must be able to problem solve and obtain quotes for equipment and repairs, excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with staff, customers and vendors.
Requirements: Applicant must live in the State of NJ and have a valid NJ driver's license. Applicants must either have CDL or obtain a CDL through company training within six (6) months of being hired. Training will be provided on the usage of equipment and safe operations. Five (5) plus years of supervisory experience. Electrical construction, general carpentry and plumbing experience a plus. Experience with heavy machinery operation and, or certification. Ability to work in a dynamic, changing environment, while managing multiple priorities and ensuring objectives are being met. Microsoft Office and, or Google experience required, SCADA a plus. Applicants must satisfy employer paid physical, drug screen and criminal background check. Must be able to lift 70 pounds and climb ladders.
